Parent Teacher Organization

The Jackson PTO is a dedicated group of parents, guardians, teachers, and staff who come together to support the school’s mission and build a sense of community. As an IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) school, we value collaboration, service, and active involvement—and the PTO helps bring those values to life.

Our PTO is committed to:

• Enhancing the scholar experience through events, programs, and enrichment opportunities.

• Strengthening the school community by building strong connections among families, teachers, and staff.

• Supporting IB PYP goals by promoting global-mindedness, inquiry-based learning, and student-led action.

• Providing volunteer support for school functions, celebrations, and academic events.

Throughout the year, the PTO helps organize and support a wide range of initiatives that enrich the educational experience and celebrate our diverse school community. Some highlights include:

• Family Engagement Events (e.g., Literacy Night, Math Games Night, Cultural Heritage Celebrations)

• Fundraising Activities to support classroom supplies, student incentives, and school enhancements

• Volunteer Opportunities during school events, picture day, field trips, and more

• Staff Appreciation Initiatives to recognize and celebrate the amazing educators at Jackson

• Support for IB PYP Units of Inquiry through guest speakers, family showcases, and real-world connections

As an IB PYP World School, Jackson is committed to developing internationally minded students who are curious, compassionate, and ready to take action. The PTO helps reinforce this mission by:

• Encouraging family involvement in service learning and student action projects

• Celebrating cultural diversity and inclusion through schoolwide events

• Modeling the IB Learner Profile attributes by being caring, principled, communicators, and reflective partners in education

Every parent and caregiver is welcome and encouraged to join the PTO—there are no membership fees. Whether you have an hour to give or are ready to take on a leadership role, your participation makes a meaningful difference.

Ways to get involved:

• Attend PTO meetings and events

• Volunteer for school functions

• Share your skills, ideas, and cultural traditions

• Join a committee or take on a project

The PTO meets monthly to plan activities, discuss ideas, and hear from school leadership. Meeting dates and times are posted in the school calendar.
