Empowering Scholars Beyond the Classroom

At Jackson IB PYP World School, learning doesn’t end when the final bell rings. We are proud to offer a rich variety of school clubs and extracurricular programs that inspire creativity, build leadership, and promote lifelong skills beyond academics.

Our extracurricular offerings are carefully designed to align with the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP)—fostering balanced, caring, and principled learners who are empowered to explore their interests and take action in their communities.

After School Enrichment Opportunities

Empire After School Program

The Empire Program is a free after-school initiative funded by the New York State Education Department that provides engaging, academic-based enrichment for scholars in Grades 1–6. Activities include:

  • Academic support and homework help

  • Arts & crafts and cultural enrichment

  • STEM exploration and science clubs

  • Fitness and wellness activities

  • Social-emotional learning and team-building experiences

Schedule: Monday–Friday | 3:20 PM – 5:20 PM
Registration required; spaces are limited.

21st Century Community Learning Centers (CCLC) Program

The 21st Century Program offers an additional layer of enrichment and extended learning opportunities, connecting classroom instruction with real-world learning. This federally funded program focuses on:

  • Project-based learning and inquiry-based clubs

  • Academic interventions and tutoring

  • Visual and performing arts experiences

  • Family engagement workshops and events

  • Community service and student-led action initiatives

The program is designed to support scholars holistically—academically, socially, and emotionally—while extending the core values of the IB PYP.

Aligned with the IB PYP Philosophy

Each club and program is an extension of the IB PYP framework, encouraging scholars to:

  • Take initiative and explore their interests

  • Collaborate with others toward shared goals

  • Think critically, act ethically, and reflect on their learning

  • Engage with their school and the world around them

Our goal is to offer opportunities that ignite curiosity and support whole-child development—just as the IB PYP envisions.

Student Clubs at Jackson

In addition to structured after-school programs, Jackson offers a variety of student clubs throughout the school year based on scholar interest and staff availability. Past and current clubs include:

These clubs provide a platform for scholars to express themselves, build friendships, and make meaningful contributions to our school community.

How to Join

Club sign-ups and after-school program enrollment are announced throughout the year via school newsletters, flyers, and Class Dojo. Be sure to:

  • Check your scholar’s folder and our website regularly

  • Complete registration forms by the posted deadlines

  • Reach out to the main office or program coordinator with any questions
